Brian M. Heit is the core of the firm’s corporate and business law practice, in which he provides commercial litigation and general counsel services, as well as specific services such as corporate structuring from inception to initial operations, joint-venture-agreements, corporate governance and compliance, and regulatory review and preparation.
Mr. Heit’s diverse background serving hundreds of business owners, working in-house at public and private enterprises, clerking for the Securities and Exchange Commission, and working as a litigation associate enables him to address a wide range of client matters. This foundation empowers him to support businesses effectively and pursue claims forcefully.
Mr. Heit began his practice as a financial service broker at Aon, an international insurance brokerage, where he brokered multimillion-dollar management liability lines on behalf of publicly traded companies. Brian’s clients included biotech, technology, and healthcare companies, as well as many of the Fortune 500 companies located in the Bay Area. Mr. Heit’s formal education, along with his experience with large corporate companies and various private enterprises, allows him to implement business theories to the legal issues facing a business, which not only creates value but also can protect a venture from unnecessary risk and loss.
As general counsel, Mr. Heit guides his clients on day-to-day dealings in regards to corporate governance, licensing, manufacturing and distribution agreements, employment contracts, and other business contracts. His clients range from smaller startup and family-owned businesses and investors to private middle-market companies and publicly traded companies. Our firm serves a wide range of business industries with a focus on technology, media/entertainment, real estate, and health care companies.
